When symptoms start to dictate your life, uncertainty usually follows. Our therapists help you understand the root of your symptoms so you can get back to doing what you want to do.

Some people come to us a few weeks after their accident. Others have been living with symptoms for months or years.
Progress is usually easier when you address it early, but we also see that people with long-term symptoms can still make significant strides.
How long you have had your symptoms is not the most important thing. What matters most is having a plan for how to move forward.
This program is right for you if:

Your symptoms are limiting your daily life
You no longer know what you can and cannot do
You avoid things for fear that your symptoms will get worse
Your symptoms are taking up a lot of mental space
You are constantly monitoring your symptoms
You want to regain confidence in your body

You often notice progress in your week before you notice it in your symptoms. Like a busy day no longer dictating your entire week. We start with the things you want to be able to do again.

Our therapists specialize in working with people who have persistent symptoms following a concussion or whiplash. We understand the challenges that arise when symptoms affect your daily life, your activities, and your trust in your body.

When your symptoms are difficult to understand, it is hard to know how to deal with them. That is why we dedicate a lot of time to explanation. With a better understanding of what is happening, it becomes easier to make choices.

Many people find that fear of their symptoms begins to dictate their choices. We work on ways to gradually resume activities, so your day revolves less around your symptoms.

Most treatment programs are conducted via video. You can also visit one of our clinics by appointment.

Research indicates that persistent symptoms following a concussion or whiplash are usually influenced by multiple factors simultaneously.
That is why it is often recommended to combine an explanation of your symptoms with gradual exposure, building up activities, and finding ways to re-engage with what is meaningful to you. We translate that knowledge into concrete plans tailored to your situation.

Small steps over a longer period make a big difference.

There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan. Some people find a few sessions and concrete agreements sufficient. Others benefit from longer-term guidance. You pay per session, and only for what you need.

No. Pain therapy at Hemi is provided by practitioners with additional training in pain science. The focus is on understanding what is happening and on practical ways to get back to doing what you want to do.
Yes. Usually, these run concurrently within the same treatment plan, with the same practitioner.
Do I need a referral? No. You can book an appointment yourself.
Many treatments focus on the specific area where you feel pain. However, with persistent pain, the issue rarely remains localized; your nervous system has become more sensitive and triggers more easily. Pain therapy addresses this underlying mechanism. You will find out during your intake whether this is the missing link in your recovery.
It can be difficult to know which treatment is right for you. In a free 15-minute consultation, we will work together to determine the most logical next step.
