What we see in our treatment programs
When people receive the right help, more usually changes than just the number of symptoms.

When symptoms persist following a concussion or whiplash, recovery often takes longer than anyone anticipated. We provide targeted treatment for these conditions and keep all involved parties updated on the progress.

This page is for legal representatives, occupational experts, and claims adjusters dealing with someone experiencing persistent symptoms after a concussion or whiplash. These symptoms are often not visible on a scan.
That doesn't make them any less real, but it does complicate the process. There is debate, there is waiting, and in the meantime, recovery fails to get underway.
The question is usually the same: what can this person handle, and what is needed to move forward? What helps is treatment that starts from what someone can currently manage and builds on that step by step. Instead of waiting for clarity on the case, we start where possible.
Treatment is provided via video or by appointment at our clinic in Amsterdam. A referral is not required. The waiting time is two to three weeks.

Mapping out what someone can currently handle
Building up your capacity step by step
Neck pain, headaches, dizziness, and sensory sensitivity
Explanation of symptoms and how to manage them
Structuring your daily routine and energy management
A plan for returning to work or study
Measuring progress with questionnaires
In many cases, treatment during the process is covered by the liable party or their insurer as part of recovery-oriented services.
The injured party registers themselves, or one of the involved parties gets in touch to discuss whether this is a good fit.
In both cases, it starts with a free fifteen-minute consultation.
The injured party, the legal representative, and the insurer agree on the reimbursement. If there is no reimbursement through the case, our standard rates apply. These can be found on the Costs and reimbursement page.
After the orientation meeting and the agreements regarding reimbursement, we schedule the intake and the treatment begins.

We provide treatment. We do not make statements about liability, causal links, or the amount of damages.
That is not our profession, nor is it our role. This also means that it makes no difference to our treatment who approaches us or who pays the bill. The injured party is our patient.
The treatment relationship and professional confidentiality apply in full, regardless of who initiates the process.

At the end of the process, we provide a final report. This describes the course of the treatment, the development of work capacity, and what that means for daily functioning and work.
Written in language that is accessible outside of the healthcare sector. The injured party reviews the report before it is shared and can have factual inaccuracies corrected.
After that, it is sent to the involved parties. There are currently no additional costs for the reporting. We can provide a brief status update in the interim if the process requires it. The injured party also reviews this.

We do not perform medical assessments or occupational health investigations. We do not make statements regarding the degree of disability.
We do not act as a medical advisor for any of the parties. We provide treatment and a description of how that treatment has progressed.

When people receive the right help, more usually changes than just the number of symptoms.

*The results achieved are based on our international treatment programs.

During the intake and throughout the course of treatment, patients complete questionnaires about their symptoms, their functioning, and their quality of life.
We use these results during treatment to see if what we are doing is working. They also contribute to the figures shown above.
We don't measure for the sake of advertising. We measure because treatment without measurement is just guesswork, and because a pattern of ups and downs is easily mistaken for progress.
